Grand Opening Countdown!!!

It's 3 days from party time...and I'm finally transitioning from 'crazy woman party planner' to just 'crazy excited'! We had all hands on deck tonight at the studio primping and prepping for the Negative Space Studio grand opening. And if it couldn't get any better....we're going to be on Good Day Sacramento this Friday morning in the 8 o'clock hour talking about the Coop and our opening party. I'm not much for mornings...but I'll make an exception for this. I hate tv interviews too....so if I look or sound horrible...please just lie to me when you see me at the party! Any way...I hope you all can make it on Saturday. We are also supporting a wonderful charity with the event - Generation Fate - an organization passionately dedicated to helping our local foster youth. Our coop photographers will have work on display and I have gathered local photography talent to donate their services for a ferociously fabulous art raffle to benefit the charity as well! This is an event not to be missed! Everybody says that...but really...you should cancel whatever you had planned for this! We will also have a live acoustic performance by 2x Sammy's Winner, Bobby Martinez and Brian Burke of The Bennys! I am super excited about that! The details are below...hope to see you there! I just noticed I used a lot of !!! in this post...are you feeling my excitement people!!!

Destination Weddings and a fabulous shoot out!

To satisfy the travelling soul that possesses my being and my love for beautiful weddings...I will be running a promotion through the end of the year for brides booking destination weddings in 2009. Please contact the studio (916-747-3293) for all of the details - it's sure to be splendid!

This past Sunday I helped organize one of the most splendid shoot-outs I have ever partook in. I, Dawn Spinelli and Carlos Rivera wrangled the most talented wedding industry folks in the area to pull off a most beautiful shoot. When you get 12 photographers, 7 models, 2 stylists, 2 boutiques, 1 videographer and 1 florist together...it makes for some yummy talent! It was a loooonnng day and a lot of coordinating...but definitely worth the effort. The day began bright and early at my studio with the stylists working their magic and then it was on to 6 hours of shooting. There will be a snappy promo video made from the days event...but here are just a few images to wet your artsy palette till then.
Enjoy!

Location: Negative Space Studio
Gowns: PW Jitters
Hair: Beth Anderson Hair Design
Make Up: Taryn Elizabeth Blackburn
Florals: Accents by Sage
Videography: Alba Fiore Productions

Thank you to everyone that helped make this happen!

Fairytale Town {The MacLean Family}

The MacLean Family were quite the cute session! I had a blast with them at Land Park and Fairytale Town. We ran around being silly and capturing the most wonderful moments with the abundant giggles and funny faces from the kids. Thank you MacLean family for letting me share in the fun for the day!

Wilson Vineyards, Clarksburg Wedding {Sneak Peak}

It's 1:30am and I just couldn't wait to blog and share a quick image from the most amazing wedding I was privileged to be a part of tonight. Mike and Jennifer - you two are the most adorably sweet and unique couple. So much of your personalities went into planning this wedding and it showed. From the handmade hair piece, fall pumpkins and delightfully sweet and funny vows - every moment of this day whispered of your spirit.
When Jennifer decided on Wilson Vineyards for her location - she thought it might be cute to replicate the "American Gothic" portrait. I absolutely loved the idea and the thought never left my head until today when I finally was able to create their "American Bridal Gothic" portrait. I am absolutely in love with it...it's definitely going to be a studio display. To all those soon-to-be-brides out there - I challenge you to get creative and bring a unique spin to your wedding photography. This may not be your style but find something that is and work with your photographer on creating something that reflects your personalities and is a testament to your love. Enough about that...now on to the pretty pictures!

What do you think?
I'll be posting more fabulous photos from this wedding later this week. Tomorrow I am off to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in S.F. This is a free concert in Golden Gate Park and is filled with some wonderfully talented musicians...definitely worth the drive! Happy Sunday!
