Engagement Session {Meghan & Donald} Teaser!

When Meghan and Donald sent back their Love Reports so we could plan their engagement session - I was ready to cry from excitement about the creative possibilities that lept from the pages. They had 2 of my top 10 places I've always wanted to photograph at for engagement sessions. Can you guess where this spot was? If you must have a clue: I spent way too much time and money there when I remodeled my studio - and I secretly desire to have an orange apron!
The second location will be revealed in the full love story of {Meghan & Donald}!
Enjoy and Happy New Year!

(this last one is my favorite! I can see this as a huge canvas wall romantic!)

I absolutely love what I do! Every day that I am able to photograph someone is another day that I wake up with a smile on my face, passion in my heart and creativity running from my fingers to my toes. It's really hard to top that feeling but the next best thing...aside from the love of my attending workshops of other fabulously creative and talented photographers. I am so stoked to announce that I will be hosting workshops at my studio - Negative Space - in the spring for two FABULOUS female photographers whose work I just adore! Skye Hardwick and Brianna Graham are young, talented and successful female photograpers in the portrait industry who are taking it by storm. I was thrilled when they took me up on my offer of opening my doors to them to share their knowledge with us local photographers. Portrait Photographers out there...if you have not heard of these ladies...please click on the links to view their work and to get more workshop information. Brianna will be here February 28th-March 2nd. Skye will be here April 17-19th with a bonus bridal shoot on the 20th for attendees. Hope to see you there and don't forget to spread the word....because sharing is caring.

And no blog entry is complete without a pretty's one from a recent senior Connor!

Engagement Session {Megan & Russ} Teaser!

The first time I spoke with Megan to interview as her wedding photographer...we were on the phone for 2 hours and had rambled so far off the topic of weddings that it felt more like I was talking with a long lost friend than an interview. I knew then that I was going to love this girl if I was the lucky one chosen as her wedding photographer...and here I am...blogging about her super cute engagement session with her true love...Russ! Here is a little teaser of the love story to come! Merry Christmas!

Super Cute Dog Alert...and it's not mine!

I thought Sushi was the cutest dog on earth (and she still is!) but she's got someone as a close second to her. Mr. Chewy's mom brought him into the studio for a shoot featuring his Sunday best! Isn't he adorable! He was so good and we captured the most delightfully cute images of him...don't you agree?! Here's the card I designed for Chewy's mom...I can't wait for her to see them! I'm seriously considering starting a doggy bloggy dedicated to all of the sweet animals that I have had the pleasure of photographing....soon very soon!

PDN's TopKnots Wedding contest...WISH ME LUCK!!!

So I've never entered a photo contest that I can remember...I don't think! But I thought I'd give it a try this year since I've had some pretty fabulous bride and grooms that have given me an opportunity to create some wonderfully artistic images. PDN Magazine produces the TopKnots Wedding contest and I entered 2 portrait submissions and 1 detail submission. What do you think? There are alot of talented artists in the pool so I'm just thrilled that I'll be in the mix with them all. The winners are announced in late January...wish me luck!

Also - I'll be exhibiting at the upcoming Bridal Showcase on January 11th....if you are a bride...please come by my display for a special invitation for a private event just for you! I promise it will be something you won't want to miss out on!

Home for the holidays!

I headed back home for the Thankgiving holiday to spend it with my family in Iowa this year. I forgot what it felt like to be that cold! That's one thing I don't miss about home! While I was there I was able to reconnect with a friend from grade school. She's married with 4 adorable little kids and miraculously we were able to pull off a quick photo shoot before I had to head back to California. Here's a sneak peek Stacy...I hope you enjoy!

Super Cute Twins Alert!

I photographed these 2 cuties over the holidays with their family...aren't they just adorable! I want to just pinch their little cheeks...they are just the cutest little sisters!
T*'s a little sneak peek for you...the rest are coming soon!

Sacramento Wedding Network's 1st Business Expo - It's a Hit!

The Sacramento Wedding Network was the brainchild of Kisty Rose. Not quite finding the environment she wanted for the wedding industry professionals...she decided to make her own. And so Sacramento Wedding Network was born. It's only a few months old...but that didn't let Miss Kisty stop her from organizing a very successful Business Expo for us wedding professionals. I was so honored to host it at my studio and am so excited for Kisty on the success of her event. If you are a wedding or event should definitely join the network and keep your ears to the ground for more fabulous events from Kisty and the network!
Here are a few photos from the day's events. And many thanks to Kevin of Do an Event - who was able to put together a fabulous event for us!

The talented Carlos Rivera...being as studious as ever!

Esther of Esther's Floral Design won my services from the raffle expo. Can't wait to see what ideas she has for me!

Rachel Gularte of Bridal Showcase - giving us the low down on bridal fair do's and don'ts and how to select the best one for your business.

And...we were able to give a little money to my favorite charity - Generation Fate - to help buy gifts for foster children this holiday season. It gives me the warm fuzzies knowing we helped just a little. Thank you to all the vendors and guests who helped make this event so sucessful. I hope everyone walked away with valuable information and tools and new relationships!
Cheers to success!
