Sacramento Fashionable Senior Portraits {Kate}

So mom drove the getaway car on this awesome Senior Urban Session...GO MOM!!! I sat shot gun giving her directions to all my favorite little places around town. We managed to crash a Girl Scout party, were approached by a helpful soul who thought we were broken down and got little Emma into a fierce frenzy at the park...not bad for a days shoot! Miss Kate is a fabulous 2009 Whitney High senior with grand theatrical plans in her future! With such an artistic and creative soul herself...we had fun running around capturing senior portraits unlike any other. Here are a few of my favorites from the day...Enjoy!

Carmen Salazar Seniors - 2009 {Katrina}

Beautiful...Beautiful...Beautiful!!! I was so excited about this session and how wonderful Katrina did. She has such a cute style and sense about her...which came through in her images so well. She walked into the studio with piles of clothes and we crafted some pretty cute stuff out of it all. Thank you Katrina...you were so much fun to photograph!

I'M SUPER STOKED!

I absolutely love what I do! Every day that I am able to photograph someone is another day that I wake up with a smile on my face, passion in my heart and creativity running from my fingers to my toes. It's really hard to top that feeling but the next best thing...aside from the love of my life...is attending workshops of other fabulously creative and talented photographers. I am so stoked to announce that I will be hosting workshops at my studio - Negative Space - in the spring for two FABULOUS female photographers whose work I just adore! Skye Hardwick and Brianna Graham are young, talented and successful female photograpers in the portrait industry who are taking it by storm. I was thrilled when they took me up on my offer of opening my doors to them to share their knowledge with us local photographers. Portrait Photographers out there...if you have not heard of these ladies...please click on the links to view their work and to get more workshop information. Brianna will be here February 28th-March 2nd. Skye will be here April 17-19th with a bonus bridal shoot on the 20th for attendees. Carmen Salazar Senior 2009 {Paige}

It's official....I have total hair ENVY!!! And not too mention the gorgeous blue eyes she's got!!! Miss Paige is 1 part sporty + 2 parts spice...and then some! We had so much fun hitting the downtown streets. Mother nature kept playing rain games with us...but we won and came away with the most beautiful images. Congrats Paige...you look so beautiful and I can't wait for you to see the rest!

Hello Everyone! So I've finally made the technical leap into the world of blogging. To be honest...I am still trying to figure this out...so bear with me during the learning curve. Alot has been happening over the summer that I want to share with you all so I think I will slowly reveal some stories and images over the next few weeks as I learn how to blog like the best of them.

Over the summer I had a chance to go home to Iowa for a week and while I was home I was able to shoot a senior portrait session for Mindy. We had fun running around downtown Des Moines looking for cool little spots to shoot against. Here are a couple from our shoot - the camera just loves her!
